Wheel Throwing Workshops

Have you ever fancied having a go at throwing on a wheel? Well this is your chance.

Come and join me for a unique throwing experience in my studio on the edge of the Ashdown Forest.

I offer 1:1 experiences as well as 1:2 date nights and beginners 1:1 sessions.

The experiences range from 2-3 hours and in that time you will learn about the different types of clay and the different process the clay goes through to become a functional piece. You will get a chance to throw on the wheel with 1:1 guidance, pull a handle and with any luck you will end up with a piece that I can trim and glaze for you. Most students are able to produce a couple of pieces that I can later trim, attach a handle to and glaze a colour of your choice. Students are usually able to produce a little expresso mug to remember the experience by.

One to one beginners sessions cover all the basics of wedging, throwing, turning and glazing, focusing on areas of difficulty. Beginners sessions can be booked individually or in blocks with a discount for a block of 10 lessons.
